On Tuesday, Aug. 2, deceased received a stroke of paralysis affectin his left side, and on Thursday his right side was paralyzed. The funeral service was held at Ira Monnett's home at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Dr. J. H. Poland, officiating, after which the remains were buried at Packard cemetery. His age is shown as 51. This is probably incorrect. He is listed in an earlier census than the 1850 census making him at least 10 years older.
